| Uni gunman sent pictures to American TV
Police say the gunman who killed 32 students and himself at the Virginia Tech campus sent photographs, video and writings to US TV's NBC News.
An NBC source told AFP the package was mailed from Blacksburg and postmarked at 9:01am on the day of the killings.
However police said the package had only just reached NBC.
"Earlier today, NBC News in New York received correspondence that we believe to have been from Cho Seung-Hui, the gunman responsible for the fatal shootings in Norris Hall," police superintendent Steve Flaherty said.
"The correspondence included multiple photographs, video and writings. Upon receipt of this correspondence, NBC News immediately notified authorities."
MSNBC, an affiliate of NBC, said the material included video and a many-page statement which appeared to have been sent between the two separate shooting incidents on the campus.
Superintendent Flaherty said the material had been turned over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, but gave no details about what it contained.
"This may be a very new critical component of this investigation. We are in the process right now of attempting to analyse and evaluate its worth," he said.
