 | Youth head to Uluru for reconciliation gathering
Young people from around Australia are on their way to Uluru, in central Australia, as ambassadors for reconciliation.
The group started their journey in Easter marches around Australia as part of the Schools for Harmony project.
The project's Peter Bradbury says they are now on their way to central Australia to launch National Youth Week on Thursday.
"So they go on the journey [to] the heart of the country at the same time to discover more on their own meaning, if you like, and to reach out to their Indigenous peers and the culmination of that is a concert out here at Uluru at the amphitheatre," he said.
Mr Bradbury says they will meet in central Australia for a symbolic reconciliation with Indigenous Australians.
"At the end of it there's a little ceremony of reconciliation where we share some water together and we say in the past we've stolen the water and taken the land, but we want to do it a different way from now on and create a better future for everyone," he said.
