Swimming Australia shows support for Thorpe. Former Olympic champion Ian Thorpe of Australia reportedly tested positive for testosterone and a banned hormone in 2006. The 24-year-old, who retired in November, was a major star of the sport, winning five Olympic crowns and eleven world titles, while aslo setting 23 world records But according to French newspaper L'Equipe website, he tested positive for abnormally high levels of testosterone and luteinizing hormone.

Boating losers are grinners
63 hours, 12 minutes and 24 seconds. That's how long it took 'Identity Crisis' to sail from Sydney to Southport. The boat crossed the line in the wee small hours on Tuesday morning, and was the last placed vessel in the race. Skipper Ian Thomson isn't too worried about the 'shame' of coming last, "It's a privilege. Pakistan-Ireland match fixed
The murder of Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer has highlighted the dark side of a sport once known as the gentleman's game but which is now plagued by underworld match-fixing gangs. Jamaica police, while confirming that Woolmer was strangled to death a day after Pakistan were knocked out of the World Cup following their loss to unfancied Ireland, have ruled out mugging as a likely motive. The police have stressed they do not suspect anyone yet of the crime, but fingers are once again being pointed at the powerful betting and match-fixing mafia that has become synonymous with cricket.

Jamaican police have confirmed Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer was murdered, as post-mortem results showed he was strangled. More than one person could have been involved in committing the murder, police said. The official post mortem report revealed "Bob Woolmer's death was due to asphyxia as a result of manual strangulation".

Ben Cousins drug problem confirmed
West Coast star Ben Cousins has a drug problem, his father confirmed on Thursday night. Bryan Cousins, a former VFL player and father and manager of the suspended Eagle, said his son's problem related to "substance abuse". West Coast has suspended Ben Cousins indefinitely so he can deal with personal problems, but had not confirmed the former captain had a drug problem.

But cricket's governing body has postponed making a decision on three one-day game tour in September until after the current World Cup series winds up next month.

The correct spelling of Bundaburg Queensland, is Bundaberg.
