Imagine spending a day discovering paradise. Let us take you on a journey into history over vast sandy beaches and crystal clear waters where you can experience the same magnificent beauty that greeted Lieutenant James Cook when he stepped ashore here more than two centuries ago.
Our journey takes you across four tidal creeks, along Eurimbula National Park to historic Bustard Head Light-station where one of the most spectacular panoramic views in Australia awaits you. Our experienced and friendly guides will amaze you with tales of tragedy and triumph as early settlers and lighthouse keepers struggled to tame this remote wilderness. You will discover the mysteries and secrets of Middle Island and encounter some of the prolific wildlife that inhabits the area. Kangaroos rest lazily in the shade of casuarinas; dolphins and turtles play in the bay whilst sea eagles and pelicans soar overhead.
This unique experience includes morning tea, picnic lunch with billy tea in the shade of a casuarina grove overlooking picturesque Jenny Lind Creek. Here you have time to go for a stroll, have a swim, or just relax and talk with your new found friends before experiencing the thrill of sand boarding down the towering dunes of Middle Island.

However, if your group don’t have the time to experience the Award winning day tour to Bustard Head, the team at 1770 Environmental Tours can customise a LARC tour to suit your group’s time, needs & budget, with 11 years of catering for groups of all ages, from all over the world.
Shortened Tour to Bustard Head Light station - 10.00am – 3.00pm
This tour drives along the deserted sandy beaches of Bustard Bay, crossing four tidal creeks and straight up Bustard Headland to the historic Bustard Head Light station, with spectacular, panoramic views. Guests will hear the tragic story of Queensland’s first coastal lighthouse, with an interpretative tour through the head light-keepers cottage and then board the LARC for the scenic drive back down the headland. Lunch of assorted sandwiches is served with a billy tea, coffee or cold drink in the picnic area on the foreshore of Jenny Lind Creek.
Bundy Breakaways enjoy this shortened Paradise tour regularly and take advantage of the later LARC departure to stop into Lavender Park in the hinterland of Agnes Water for morning tea of lavender scones, jam & cream before joining the LARC tour at 1770.

The one hour tour crosses Round Hill Creek and travels along the coastline of Eurimbula National Park, where guests will be enthralled with the rugged natural beauty of our coastline and stories of Lieutenant James Cook’s discovery in the year 1770 on board the barque Endeavour.
Bring your group for a day on the Discovery Coast, with a scenic drive to the 1770 headland, a LARC Joyride and then lunch in the garden at the Agnes Water Tavern.
1.30pm – 5.30pm
Great fun tour for the younger (or young at heart) market. This tour drives along the deserted sandy beaches of Bustard Bay, crossing three pristine waterways to Middle Island, with its towering sand dunes. We supply transport, sand boards, cold drinks and a fresh fruit, BYO swimmers, towels and a sense of adventure! In summer, this safari is best to be timed around high tide, so guests can zoom down the dunes and out into the warm waters of Jenny Lind Creek.

Driving to Town of 1770 - Agnes Water
From the South – Travelling on the Bruce Highway from Brisbane, take the turn off to the right to Bundaberg just after Apple Tree Creek.
Drive through Bundaberg and take the turn to the left at the Visitors Information Centre, and then follow the signs to the Town of 1770 and Agnes Water, approximately 120 kms from Bundaberg.
From the North – Travelling on the Bruce Highway, turn left at Miriam Vale (just south of Gladstone) and then follow the signs to the Town of 1770 and Agnes Water.
Greyhound Adventures visit daily north and south bound.
