The Discovery Coast Twin Towns Agnes Water - 1770 hold the Annual re-enactment of this historic landing as part of the Annual 1770 Festival, Held on the Weekend cloces to May 24th. |

| Eurimbula National Park |
| Eurimbula National Park. This beautiful stretch of coastline north of Agnes Water was the site of one of Cook’s first landings in Queensland during his discovery voyage in 1770. Botanist Joseph Banks collected plant specimens from the area. Bustard Head was named after a bustard or plains turkey was shot in the vicinity. |

| Reef 2 Beach Longboard Classic |
| The Reef to Beach Longboard Classic will be held in March each year on Agnes Water beach. Started in 1999 by Wayne ‘Grom’ Mellick, Clyde Cameron, Snow Bryant, Steve ‘Fozzy’ Foster and Cheryl Potter to fill a need in Central Queensland surfing, this contest has grown to become internationally recognised surfing a event coverd in all major surfing magazines and the media, This team with the addiction of Paul Bryan in 2000 and Paul White in 2004, now in it’s ninth year of organising the Reef 2 Beach Long Board Classic. |
