Queensland Bands Rock the 1770 Festival
QUEENSLAND BANDS ROCK THE 1770 FESTIVAL

This years 1770 FESTIVAL boasts a talented lineup of local Queensland artists on several stages, including bands from the region who have gone on to see success on national and overseas stages. On Saturday 26th May the Town of 1770 Foreshore parklands will see following acts grace the ‘Tree Bar Acoustic Stage’ at Air Sea Rescue Park, and the ‘Main Stage’ at Endeavour Park:-

- SUE-ANNE
Singer/songwriter Sue-Anne is currently based in Brisbane but is no stranger to this town - coming from a nomadic upbringing she spent time growing up in Lowmead, and has recently returned from her second world tour with gig highlights in Hawaii, the US, UK and Europe, including festival spots at the Calgary Stampede, the Vegoose Festival in the USA, and back home at the Woodford Folk Festival and the Folk Rhythm and Life Festival. Sue-Anne has been working hard promoting her latest album release 'Vivid', which lives up to its name... a selection of powerful songs, drawn from a solid folk heritage with a punchier roots feel subtly carried by her passionate vocal styling. www.Sue-Anne.com

- TarNi
Queenslander Tarni Stephens first came to national attention on the Australian Idol stage. She has since been working hard carving her rock & roll niche with her own band "TarNi" to produce original tunes and a sound that harkens back to the riff driven classic rock era of the 70s and 80s when guitars were loud and the vocals soared... www.TarniTheBand.com

- BLUESVILLE STATION
If you like your Blues laden with rock and attitude be sure to jump off at Bluesville Station. The Gold Coast quartet has been building a large and loyal fan base from NSW to Bundaberg & back, and play their first 1770/Agnes Water show fresh from appearing at the Blues on Broadbeach festival. Bluesville Station are regular guests on festival stages including the Gympie Muster, Bucca Music Festival and the Brisbane Urban Blues and Roots Festival; and they recently released their 3rd album “The Castlemaine Sessions” which includes all the standard Bluesville Station hallmark harmonica blowin’, guitar drivin’ and gutsy vocal harmonies that fans have
come to expect from these lads. www.BluesvilleStation.com.au

- Pacha MaMMa
Pacha MaMMA promises a musical tapestry of funky beats, heart felt lyrics and an array of sounds from the Weissenborn, Resonator, 6 & 12 string guitars, Zyladrum, harmonica, Cajan beat box, Didge/Yidaki and other percussion instruments including African drums.

- CHRIS MALLORY AND THE TWOS & FOURS
Chris Mallory is a roots artist who has been stomping and strumming his way into the hearts of a steadily increasing fan base in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, after relocating from Rockhampton a few years ago. Mallory has recently joined forces with a talented drum & bass combination called the "Twos and Fours", and the band have also released their new EP "Singing With Your Eyes Closed". www.myspace.com/chrismallory

- EFFICIENT DELAY
This young band from Gladstone are hitting their straps early in their musical career, recently winning 2nd place at the Gladstone Harbour Festival "Battle of the Bands" whilst still teenagers in high school. With their influences firmly on their sleeves, expect a rocking set a la Silverchair & Grinspoon.

- KISSING THE BLUE LADY
Featuring Danielle Rigden on vocals & guitar, Kissing The Blue Lady are an acoustic folk/rock duo who have a unique tone and quality to their instruments which culminate to make a truly beautiful sound. Danielle is originally a science & PE teacher (currently at Mt Larcom school) who decided that her passion for music & poetry need not be sidelined, and luckily for us is now putting her music out to the general public. www.myspace.com/kissingbluelady

- 8 PINTS SHY
A firm crowd favourite from last years 1770 Festival, this 4 piece from Tannum Sands play a mix of acoustic, rock, punk and classic covers.

- UNITED ALLIANCE
This young alternative rock band have recently emerged out of the Town of 1770 / Agnes Water region playing parties and events around town.

Agnes Water often called Agnes Waters and it is common for Lady Musgrave Island to be called Lady Musgrove Island and Captain Cook to Captian Cook and Capitan Cook or Captan Cook, with the Town of Seventeen Seventy now known as 1770 that would be hard to misspell for anyone. The correct spelling of Bundaburg Queensland, is Bundaberg.
