 | Police tight-lipped on Perth raid | |
 | Australian Federal Police (AFP) and WA Police have spent the night examining a house in the Perth western suburb of Subiaco which is believed to be connected to an investigation into alleged links between terrorism and foreign trained doctors.
The AFP are refusing to say why they raided the house on Coghlan Road yesterday afternoon, only that their search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation.
Officers from the AFP and WA Police removed items which were placed in evidence bags.
They also searched a car.
Hours earlier, AFP Commissioner Mick Keelty confirmed Gold Coast-based doctor Mohammed Haneef had been charged with providing resources to a terrorist organisation and that inquiries involving other agencies including WA Police were continuing.
The search came a week after similar raids on Royal Perth Hospital, Kalgoorlie Hospital and a number of homes.
The WA Health Department says it has not been informed about any investigations involving its staff.
Meanwhile, federal Attorney-General Philip Ruddock says he is not aware of the nature of the police raids overnight in Perth.
