Pakistan Cricket team leaves Jamaica
Pakistan Cricket team leaves Jamaica amid controversy

Pakistan's cricket team has left the World Cup in a cloud of controversy, after its captain was questioned for a second time over the death of his coach.

Police interviewed Inzamam ul-Huq as new evidence surfaced over the murder of Bob Woolmer.

The team leave the West Indies after a tour that will haunt them.

First a humiliating shock loss to Ireland, then the grief of their coach's murder and now questions from police about what they knew.

"The boys are relieved. They're looking forward to going home and I think Bob will always be missed by the players as well as the cricket board," said Pakistan team manager Talat Ali.

Before their departure police questioned captain Inzamam-ul-Haq and two team officials for a second time.

Pakistan will not reveal any details of the questions or the answers.

The team says it left the country with police approval but the lead investigator, Deputy Commissioner Mark Shields of Jamaica policce, puts it differently.

"It's meant that we've had to work very hard to obtain as much evidence as we possibly can in the limited time that we've got," he said.

Across Jamaica people are intrigued and disappointed.

"If it was murder it can't be a jamaican who did it." "Cricket is supposed to be a gentlemen's sport and to murder the guy just because of cricket, that's bad."

There are now claims Bob Woolmer was poisoned before he was strangled and that he resigned the night of his murder.

There is also a book, apparently spilling everything on corruption and match fixing.

A Pakastani journalist now claims Woolmer wrote in an email: "I am going to write a book on my tenure as Pakastani coach. I shall only start after the World Cup. I'm not a name and shame guy. Just the honest facts. Let the punter make up his mind."

The coroner in Kingston has ordered Bob Woolmer's body must remain in Jamaica until his investigation is finished.

But one week after the coach's death the cricket community is firming in its belief Bob Woolmer was murdered by those who move in the darkest shadows of the game.
