| Melbourne flight passengers to be immunised for Polio | |
| Some of the passengers who arrived in Melbourne on the same flight as a man who was diagnosed with polio will be immunised today.
Health officials have contacted about 100 of the almost 250 people who were on the Thai Airlines flight, which arrived in Melbourne from Pakistan.
A 22-year-old Pakistani student remains in hospital, after becoming the first person in Australia to be diagnosed with polio since the mid 1980s.
Victoria's chief health officer Doctor John Carnie says most of the people from the flight are Victorians.
"We will be running an immunisation session," he said.
"For others, we will be doing it either through their general practitioner or whichever method is most convenient to the patient."
