 | Earthrace is heading back down under
The incredible Earthrace vessel is a vessel that took over 14 months and 1800 hours of labour to build. Earthrace is a power boat that has set a new world record for a powe boat the circle the globe.
In November 2008, Earthrace starts its promotional tour downunder. We'll be visiting about 20 cities down the East coast of Australia, followed by a 60 city tour right around New Zealand. If you would like to be our host sponsor in one or more of these cities then please get in touch here.
Earthrace announces Australian Tour Dates
Over the last two years of promotions, the amazing Earthrace boat has had nearly 150,000 people walk through her, and she’s been seen on TV networks, and in Newspapers and Magazines around the globe. She’s also been through over a dozen storms, has bullet holes from Columbians, scars from logs off Borneo, and her crew were detained under armed guard in Guatemala…and earlier this year she set a new World Record for a powerboat to circle the globe, smashing the old record by over 2 weeks, while running 100% biodiesel, and a net zero carbon footprint.
On December 13th, this battle-scarred warrior arrives in the historic town of 1770 in Northern Queensland, at the start of a six-week Australian tour. The boat and crew will be visiting around 20 locations down the East Coast, with this amazing vessel being opened to the public at all of them.
Earthrace skipper Pete Bethune says the public open days are a crucial way for the team to connect with people, especially with regards to Biofuels and carbon footprints. Australia has much to gain from a sustainable Biofuels program, and the team is hopeful it can encourage debate and awareness about the issues involved through the tour.
It is also the only chance that Australians will have to look through this awesome carbon fibre raceboat before it heads home to New Zealand in February. The Australian Tour is sponsored by Investment company JB Global.
Also if you would like Earthrace to visit your School while we're in your town, or you'd like to be volunteer crew for a while, then please email emily.

Agnes Water often called Agnes Waters and it is common for Lady Musgrave Island to be called Lady Musgrove Island and Captain Cook to Captian Cook and Capitan Cook or Captan Cook, with the Town of Seventeen Seventy now known as 1770 that would be hard to misspell for anyone. The correct spelling of Bundaburg Queensland, is Bundaberg. | | | | |
