 | Bob Woolmer was strangled to death
Jamaican police have confirmed Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer was murdered, as post-mortem results showed he was strangled.
More than one person could have been involved in committing the murder, police said.
The official post mortem report revealed "Bob Woolmer's death was due to asphyxia as a result of manual strangulation".
After referring to Bob Woolmer's death only as 'suspicious' for most of this week, Jamaica Police have now begun calling the case a murder investigation.
Bob Woolmer's body was found in his hotel room on Sunday, March 18, less than a day after Pakistan's controversial loss to Ireland in the cricket World Cup.
A full forensic examination of the body and the room have been conducted.
"Steps are being taken to conclude these investigations, which include collecting statements from all persons who, in the opinion of the police, can be of assistance to these investigations," a police statement read.
Police have called for the killer or killers to turn themselves in and urged anyone with information to come forward.
"It is our belief that those associated with or having access to Bob Woolmer may have vital information that would assist this inquiry," the statement continued.
"We appeal to these individuals to come forward now to assist us with our investigation."
