There has been a great response from Agnes Water Surf Clubs young members to the YIP (Youth Incentive Program) that has been introduced into the club this year. This youth development program is designed for young people aged 12 yrs to 20 yrs. The program offers cub members the opportunity to receive recognition for their service within the Ages Water Community, through a point reward system.
With the first lot of registrations already submitted, participants should start receiving their program handbooks very soon. Once these arrive, Agnes Water Surf Club youth development officer will arrange a meeting to discuss expected outcomes with the participants.
This program is being run for young people, by young people with the support of Queensland Surf Life Saving and the Captain Cook 1770 Agnes Water Lions youth worker.
On Saturday December 2nd, Agnes Water locals will get their chance to perch themselves in the patrol tower and throw out a lifeline to volunteer lifesavers by participating in the Agnes Water ‘Up the Tower’ event.
It will be the first time Agnes Water has taken part in this type of event Surf Life Saving which encourages high profile identities to go on patrol. They will be armed with a mobile phone, and will contact friends, family, and associates for financial pledges to help support Agnes Water Surf Life Saving Club.
The tower will be set up in front of Agnes Water Newsagents in Endeavour Plaza fro Saturday morning, December 2nd.
Local identities such as Vlad Golar from Kahunas, Dave Chapman, Barb Culpan and Tom Jeffery to name a few, will be perched on top of the tower. The one who raises the most money will receive a dinner for two donated by Gassan Sangari of Beachside Bar & Restaurant.
Come on down and help support these local identities to raise money for the Agnes Water Surf Life Saving Club.
Anybody interested in going ‘UP THR TOWER’, please contact Kim Rusan on 4974 7141 for further information.
