Fishing
Boyne Tannum Hook Up - Annual Fishing Competition held over the Queens Birthday long weekend each year. (Book well in advance if you require accommodation) It's a great event & features prizes & cash in excess of $60,000 in a variety of categories for both seniors & juniors. There is an excellent still water boat launching facility & ample parking for trailers. Boyne Island & Tannum Sands offers a gateway to the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef. There is river, creek & beach fishing.

Beach & River
Tannum Beach is patrolled by the Queensland Surf Life Saving Association. The Boyne River separates Tannum Sands from Boyne Island & runs inland to meet Awoonga Dam, there's plenty of quite spots to wet a line, water ski or launch your boat.
